Swimming News
Interclub County Relay Championships – took place at Worcester on 1st July with nine clubs competing in age group freestyle and medley events. 13 Dolphins relay teams made it through to the finals with the U10 boys medley relay team comprising Charlie Arrowsmith, Daniel Buck, Sam Cave and Anthony Refern collecting County medals for third place. The Ladies 13/14 team of Roxanne Sweeney, Helen Nutter, Katherine Llwelleyn and Emma Houlston were in splendid form securing second and third places in the freestyle and medley finals.
Our 5 Masters Teams (total ages of the 4 swimmers must total 100 years or more!!) dominated the Masters events winning a host of medals.
Well done to all swimmers who took part in these Championships.
Nuneaton League – junior swimmers have competed in 2 further rounds with overall disappointing results as we have struggled to put out 2 teams on the same night. However, there has been some quality swimming with the following swimmers winning their individual races; Sam Cave, Callum Goddard, Ruth Hadley, Alice O’toole, and Rebecca Peake.

A number of swimmers have competed or are about to compete in Open Meets at Gloucester, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Hereford and Coventry. Details of forthcoming events are on the Notice Board from time to time. If you are interested in competing at an Open Meet please speak to Katharine Buck or your Coach for further details.
Congratulations to Ben Rimington who won his age group in the 100 IM and Backstroke events at the Stourbridge ‘B’ Open Meet in May.

Other News
The AGM was held on 24th June with all parents invited to come along and have their say. A number of issues were raised including overcrowding in swim lanes particularly with younger swimmers, and the need for improved communications between parents, swimmers and coaches. These concerns will be addressed over the coming months.
Thank you to all parents who came along and aired their views.
The committee remains unchanged for the forthcoming year, although we are delighted to welcome Sean Storey as the swimmers’ representative to the committee. Any ideas or suggestions, can be routed through Sean or the Senior Club Captains, Johnathan Hunter and Amy Piper.
Can you help ………
PARENT
VOLUNTEERS
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those parents who give up
their time to assist with the running of our internal and external galas.
Without your valuable contribution, we would not be able to run galas and our
children would not have the opportunity to compete, either internally for club
championships, or externally in league competition. I would like to give
particular thanks to those who helped out with the recent Nuneaton League gala
at Droitwich, especially those whose children were not involved on the night -
I'm sure you could have found better things to do on a Saturday night, but your
help was really appreciated.
If there any parents who do not currently involve themselves with the running
and officiating of our galas, but who would like to lend their time, please feel
free to contact me - I shall leave my home number with Deb and Sharon who run
the Friday night desk in the cafeteria area. Please remember that we are not
asking you to give up time that you wouldn't already be spending at the poolside
watching your children, however by better utilising your time to support your
club while your children swim, we will be able to continue with the successful
running of our galas. If you've never worked on poolside before, don't worry -
training and support will be given where required.
Remember, without parent volunteers, our galas and competitions cannot happen!!
Thanks for your support
