What a night that was on Saturday!!!!

To the swimmers in the Junior Squad that competed on Saturday 27th June 2009 at Nuneaton Swimming Pool....... THE CLUB IS VERY VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL!!

Once again, we were the loudest team on poolside, and our parents and spectators were the loudest in the stands. On Saturday night, Droitwich Dolphins was the place to be!

DDSC suffered only 4 DQs during this gala, and 2 of those were where we needed to swim over-age swimmers due to a shortage of swimmers in one relay team. This in itself was a tremendous achievement, and demonstrates the high level of concentration and effort from the swimmers both during the gala, and during recent training sessions.

We scored 1st or 2nd place in 28 out of 51 events, and given that 4 teams in the gala were from the top 9 of the division, this was a truly outstanding performance.

A season consisting of three excellent galas (one 1st and two 2nd places) should mean we have qualified for the Division Two final in September. Full details will be posted here once our qualification is confirmed by the league. It normally takes up to a week for results to be validated and posted on the Nuneaton League website.

Full results and times from each of the three rounds can be found in the Member's section, or by clicking here

Many thanks to all of the swimmers who represented the club on Saturday, to the officials and parent volunteers who gave their time, to our Ladies Captain Emma Houlston who gave up her Saturday night to support the team, and to our coaches Lynne and Alison who have transformed the DDSC Junior Squad into a winning team to be feared by all!!
