On Saturday 8th may our juniors achieved a well earned win in the second round of the Nuneaton Junior Swimming League division two at Stechford Cascades in Birmingham. The team swam incredibly well and only failed to finish in the top three on eight occasions.
Strength in depth was demonstrated by the relay results with 13 1st or 2nd places from 19 events. The 12U girls Ruth Hadley, Samantha Geary, Rachel Bradley and Lauren Rogers (11) won the freestyle relay and came second in the medley relay, as did the 11U girls, Lauren Rogers and Rebecca Hadley with help from 10U girls. The 11U boys of Solomon, Joe, Matthew Redfern & Timothy Quiney won the medley relay and came 2nd in the freestyle.
The 9U boys ,Theo Groves, Jules Gwinnutt, Archie Jones, Chris Osborne & Bradley Rushton, & girls, Elena Davison, Hayley Juhasz, Elle Mortimer & Emma Smalley, and the 10U boys, George Bates, Tom Dean, Tom Evans & Ben Hughes, all increased their points scoring from the first round showing that they are learning from the competition and progressing well.
A top 2 finish in the third round towards the end of June should see the team make the finals for the second year in a row.
