Club handbook
The Club Handbook provides a complete guide for new members of the Club and can be viewed and/or printed by clicking HERE
The Club is run on a squad system. Progression within the system is Dolphins, Sharks, Bronze, Silver and Gold. There is also a Club squad for older swimmers who wish to continue swimming for their own enjoyment and fitness.
Dolphins and Sharks are coached by Lynne West, (Director of Development), assisted by Lesley Houlston, Michael Ginty, Rachel Roberts and on occasions other senior swimmers. This group now works towards the grades 9-12 of the ASA teaching plan.
Bronze is now coached by Alison Whiteman.
Silver, Gold and Club squads are coached by Mr Simon Hillson with assistance from Mark Williams, Sue Watt and Lesley Houlston
Galas
The club enters a team in several of the local leagues and galas take place throughout the year. Team lists for galas are posted on the Club notice board by the coaching team at least two weeks before the event is to be held. If you are selected to swim in the team and are available to swim please place a tick by your name. If you are not available to swim please put a cross by your name.
It is important that this is done when the team list is first posted so a replacement can be found. For local galas, parents are expected to provide transport. For galas further afield the club will provide a team bus. This will be free for swimmers but accompanying adults will be expected to pay a small fee. We do expect at least one adult to accompany young swimmers aged 10 and under.
If you take part in any galas you will need to take with you
Club costume, t-shirt and hat
Two towels
Two pairs of goggles
Spare costume
Still drink
Light energy snack
